However, when carbonizing in a charcoal kiln, it is not the case that the more wood is placed, the better. If the wood is placed too densely, the wood will easily break during carbonization. This is because the temperature in the kiln rises too quickly, causing the volatile matter to decrease, increasing the brittleness of the charcoal.

A good charcoal kiln not only has good air tightness, but also has balanced air flow, without "cold spots", and the overall temperature in the kiln can quickly rise to the carbonization temperature of 500℃.
