Wood pellets, also known as biomass fuel pellets, are mainly made of pine, fir, birch, poplar, fruit wood and crop straw. They are used for burning, barbecue and fireplace heating. Their combustion efficiency is more than 80% (more than 60% of the efficiency of ordinary coal combustion). They produce less sulfur dioxide, ammonia nitrogen compounds and dust. Of course, there are many requirements for making wood pellets. It is not that you can directly make pellets by buying a pellet machine, but you need to pay attention to many aspects of the problem. All aspects must be prepared before you can produce wood pellets.

Product Analysis

The moisture content of the raw materials of the wood pellet machine is strict. No matter what kind of wood chips, the moisture content must be kept within a range (preferably 14%-20%). If it is too dry, it will not be formed, and if it is too wet, it will be loose.
The raw materials themselves must have adhesiveness. If not, the products pressed out of the wood pellet machine will either be unformed or loose and easy to break. Therefore, if you see that the material that has no adhesiveness can be pressed into pellets or blocks, the raw materials must have been tampered with, or fermented or added with adhesives.

Pure sawdust can be used to make sawdust pellets, and no other adhesives are needed, because sawdust is a crude fiber raw material with a certain degree of adhesiveness. After being compressed by the sawdust pellet machine, it can be naturally formed and will be very strong. The pressure of the pellet machine is very large.
It is said that pure sawdust is used, but it does not mean that other types of sawdust cannot be mixed. Sawdust from various woods, shavings, mahogany, and poplar can all be used, as well as waste scraps from furniture factories. More broadly speaking, things like crop straw and peanut shells can be used as raw materials for sawdust pellet machines. Of course, the pellets made cannot be called sawdust pellets, but straw pellets.
