What Safety Precautions Are Required for small Biomass Pellet Machine?

Wood pellet manufacturing equipment processing precautions

Personnel safety is paramount and must be strictly adhered to. Before starting work, operators must wear full protective gear: safety helmet, safety glasses, dust mask, and non-slip shoes to prevent injury from dust inhalation or material splashes. During equipment operation, it is strictly forbidden to insert hands or tools into rotating parts such as the feed inlet, pressing chamber, or discharge outlet. Even for clearing minor blockages, the machine must be stopped and the power disconnected, and operation should only commence after the equipment has completely stopped. Some users, for convenience, clean the feed inlet with their hands while the equipment is running, resulting in fingers being caught and causing serious workplace injuries. Such accidents can be completely avoided through proper operation.

Equipment safety protections must be in place to prevent malfunctions from escalating. The safety devices of the biomass pellet mill (protective covers, guardrails, overload protection, and leakage protection) must be intact and effective. Unauthorized removal or damage is strictly prohibited. These devices should be regularly inspected, such as checking whether the fixing bolts of the protective cover are loose and whether the overload protection triggers properly. Any problems should be repaired or replaced promptly. If abnormal noise, severe vibration, or overheating of components occurs during processing, the machine must be stopped and the power disconnected immediately. The fault must be investigated and resolved before restarting; forced resumption of production is strictly prohibited. For example, if the motor overheats or emits an unusual odor, the machine must be stopped immediately for cooling. Check whether overload or poor heat dissipation is the cause to prevent motor burnout.

Environmental protection in the production environment cannot be ignored, with a focus on preventing dust explosions and fire risks. Wood dust generated during processing, when reaching a certain concentration in the air, can explode upon contact with an open flame or static electricity. Therefore, the workshop must be well-ventilated, equipped with dust collection equipment such as pulse dust collectors, and dust on the floor and equipment surfaces must be cleaned promptly. Smoking and the use of open flames are strictly prohibited in the workshop. Sufficient dry powder fire extinguishers, fire sand, and other fire-fighting equipment must be provided, and their effectiveness checked regularly. Furthermore, the raw material storage area must be isolated from the production area, kept dry and well-ventilated, and away from fire sources to prevent excessive accumulation of raw materials that could cause a fire.

Additional reminder: Electrical safety should be a primary focus. The electrical wiring of the equipment must be laid out in a standardized manner to avoid short circuits and leakage caused by aging or damage; operators must be familiar with the location of the main power switch so that they can quickly cut off the power in case of an emergency. Regularly inspect the electrical control cabinet, clean the internal dust, and place desiccant inside the cabinet to prevent electrical components from getting damp and short-circuiting.
