What is a press briquette machine
content
A wood briquette press machine, also known as a biomass fuel briquette machine, is a specialized piece of equipment that extrudes biomass raw materials such as wood chips, straw, sawdust, and palm shells into briquette-shaped fuel. It is widely used in biomass energy processing and the resource utilization of forestry waste. Its core function is to transform loose biomass raw materials into high-density, high-calorific-value, and easily stored and transportable briquette-shaped products-biomass fuel briquettes, commonly known as "machine-made charcoal briquettes" or "biomass briquettes." These can be used directly for combustion heating, industrial heating, and barbecues, or further carbonized into machine-made charcoal.
In terms of equipment characteristics, sawdust log presses typically employ a screw extrusion or hydraulic extrusion structure. Core components include a screw shaft, forming sleeve, and heating device. During operation, pre-treated raw materials (moisture content controlled at 8%-12%, particle size 2-5mm) enter the molding cavity. Pushed and extruded by the screw shaft, combined with a heating device, the lignin in the raw materials softens and binds, and under high pressure, it is extruded from the molding sleeve to form uniformly shaped rods of fuel. The finished product density can reach 1.1-1.3 g/cm³, with a calorific value of approximately 4500-5000 kcal/kg, and its combustion efficiency is far higher than that of bulk raw materials.
While sawdust brick presses and wood pellet mills (biomass fuel pellet mills) both belong to biomass molding equipment, their core differences are significant: In terms of finished product shape, briquette presses produce rod-shaped fuel with a diameter of 20-50mm, and the length can be adjusted as needed; wood pellet mills produce pellet-shaped fuel with a diameter of 6-12mm, and the length is mostly 2-4 times the aperture. In terms of applications, briquette press products are more suitable for carbonization processing, outdoor barbecues, and small boiler heating; wood pellet mill products are suitable for large-scale heating systems and biomass generator sets, with applications leaning towards large-scale energy supply. Furthermore, briquette machines have stricter requirements for raw material moisture content (8%-12%), while wood pellet machines have an optimal moisture content of 12%-15%, and their operation threshold is slightly lower than that of briquette machines.
The core application scenarios for corn stalk briquette making machines are concentrated in small and medium-sized biomass processing workshops, forestry cooperatives, and charcoal processing plants. In areas with abundant raw materials, forestry scraps, straw, and other waste can be processed into fuel briquettes using briquette machines, turning waste into treasure, solving waste pollution problems, and creating economic value. At the same time, briquette machines are of moderate size and have a lower investment threshold than large-scale pellet mill production lines, making them suitable for individual entrepreneurs and small businesses.
