How to Operate a Small Sawdust Briquette Press Machine?
The core principle of a small wood chip briquette press machine is the same as that of a general wood chip briquette machine, relying on "high pressure + high temperature" to achieve lignin self-bonding. However, the operation steps have been optimized, making it more suitable for small-scale operations.

Preparation
Before starting the machine, the following preparations are necessary: Check the lubricating oil level and the gap between the pressure roller and the die hole to ensure smooth operation. Preset the parameters according to the characteristics of the wood chips: adjust the pressure to 10-15 MPa for a flat die wood chip briquette machine and 15-25 MPa for a hydraulic wood briquette making machine. Set the heating device temperature to 160-180℃ (for models without a heating device, the frictional heating effect can be improved by adjusting the feeding speed). At the same time, confirm that the pre-treated wood chips meet the standards for particle size and moisture content to avoid affecting compression due to raw material issues.

Hydraulic briquette maker operation steps:
Step 1: Feeding. Pre-treated wood chips are fed into the equipment's hopper at a uniform speed, either manually or through a small hopper. A stirring device within the hopper prevents wood chips from bridging and piling up. The feeding speed must match the equipment's capacity; for a 500kg/hour model, the feeding speed should be controlled at 60-80kg/h. Feeding too quickly can cause overload and shutdown, while feeding too slowly reduces compression efficiency.
Step 2: Extrusion molding. After the wood chips enter the molding cavity, a motor-driven roller (or screw shaft) applies high pressure. Simultaneously, a heating device (or friction heating) softens and melts the lignin. Under high pressure and binding action, the wood chips are forced into the die holes, forming columnar shapes.
Step 3: Molding, cutting, and cooling. After being extruded from the die holes, the columnar shapes are cut into 5-15cm blocks of fuel by a pre-set cutter. The cutter speed can be adjusted as needed to ensure uniform length. Freshly compressed wood shavings briquettes reach temperatures exceeding 100℃ and require natural cooling or a small cooling fan to reach room temperature. This prevents them from absorbing moisture and deteriorating due to high temperatures. Cooled briquettes have uniform density and high strength and can be stored or used directly.
During operation, the equipment's running status and finished product quality must be monitored in real time. If the briquettes are found to be loose, the pressure or temperature can be increased appropriately. If the equipment makes abnormal noises or overheats, it must be stopped immediately for inspection to check for impurities in the raw materials or equipment wear. Compared to large wood briquetting machines, the small wood shavings briquette maker machine has a simpler operation process, requiring no complex automated controls. Ordinary people can master it after 1-2 days of training.
