How to Choose the Right Wood Pellet Mill for Making High-Quality Hay Pellet Feed?

Hay, a common feed ingredient, is characterized by its high fiber content and strong water absorption, which places specific demands on the performance of hay pellet machines. Firstly, when selecting a wood pellet machine, the material of the pressure rollers and molds should be given special attention. The coarse fibers in hay can easily cause wear and tear on the equipment; using high-strength alloy steel for the pressure rollers and molds can effectively extend the equipment's service life and reduce maintenance costs.

Secondly, the roller speed and pressure adjustment functions of the equipment are crucial. The moisture content of hay is typically between 12% and 18%, and different moisture contents require different pressing parameters. A high-quality wood pellet mill should have an adjustable roller speed and pressure system. When the moisture content of the hay is high, the speed and pressure can be appropriately increased to ensure compact pellet formation; when the moisture content is low, the parameters should be reduced to prevent the pellets from becoming too brittle and easily broken. Taking the 420-type wood pellet mill, commonly used by small and medium-sized farmers, as an example, its speed can be adjusted between 150-300 r/min, and its pressure range covers 5-12 MPa, making it adaptable to hay raw materials in different states.
