What is a sawdust briquette press machine
content
Based on their forming principles, wood chip briquette press machines are mainly divided into two categories: screw briquette machines and hydraulic biomass briquette presses, which dominate the market. These two types have significantly different characteristics and are suitable for different production scenarios. Screw extrusion wood chip briquette presses are the most widely used type, accounting for over 80% of the market share. Their core advantages are continuous production and high efficiency, with a single machine's hourly output reaching 50-500 kg.
They continuously push raw materials and apply high pressure through a screw shaft, achieving rapid forming with a heating device. They are suitable for raw materials with high fiber content, such as wood chips and sawdust, and their continuous production logic is consistent with wood pellet machines. They are easy to operate and have stable production capacity. Hydraulic wood briquette making machines use an intermittent pressurization principle. A hydraulic system generates high pressure to force the raw material into a mold, eliminating the need for continuous heating. They are suitable for processing raw materials with slightly higher moisture content (10%-14%) or low fiber content (such as peanut shells and rice husks). Its advantages include low equipment wear and uniform finished product density. Its disadvantages include low production efficiency, with a single machine's hourly output typically ranging from 50-200 kg. It is suitable for small-batch processing scenarios, such as rural households or small workshops producing on demand. Compared to small wood pellet machines, it is more suitable for low-fiber raw materials.
Based on capacity, it can be divided into three categories: small, medium, and large. Small biomass briquette machines (50-200 kg/hour), requiring an investment of 10,000-50,000 yuan, are small in size and require no dedicated factory space, suitable for individual entrepreneurs and rural families; production can be started with a simple crusher. Medium-sized machines (200-500 kg/hour), requiring an investment of 50,000-150,000 yuan, have a moderate level of automation and are suitable for small and medium-sized processing plants and forestry cooperatives, enabling mass production. Large machines (over 500 kg/hour), requiring an investment of hundreds of thousands of yuan, require automated production lines and are suitable for large-scale biomass fuel plants. Similar to large ring die wood pellet machines, they require auxiliary equipment such as drying and screening systems.
Three main principles should be followed when selecting a wood pellet mill: First, select based on the type of raw material: choose a spiral extrusion type for high-fiber wood chips and sawdust, and a hydraulic briquette maker for low-fiber materials. Second, select based on production capacity requirements: choose a small model for small-scale production, and a medium-to-large model for large-scale production. Third, select based on investment budget: prioritize small spiral extrusion types for limited funds, and choose hydraulic types for stable quality. Compared to wood pellet mills, wood pellet briquetting machines place more emphasis on matching the fiber content of the raw material with the forming method, while wood pellet mills place more emphasis on matching the die aperture with the production capacity.
