How to Prolong the Working Life of a Small Wood Pellet Mill?

Wear parts are the core load-bearing components of a biofuel pellet making machine. Proper maintenance can extend the machine's lifespan by over 30%, with mold and pressure roller maintenance being particularly crucial. For mold maintenance, as the core component in pellet forming, the smoothness and wear condition of the mold holes directly affect the equipment's operating load. Daily maintenance should follow the principles of "timely cleaning, regular polishing, and replacement as needed": After each production run, use a fine steel rod to clear any residual material from the mold holes, then use a compressed air gun to clean the mold holes and surface to prevent the material from hardening and aggravating mold hole wear. Every 50-80 hours of operation, check the inner wall of the mold holes for carbon buildup and scratches. If the surface is rough, gently polish it with a specialized diamond polishing tool to restore smoothness and reduce material extrusion resistance. When the mold hole wear depth exceeds 2mm, or when the pellet forming rate drops sharply or energy consumption increases significantly, the mold must be replaced promptly. It is recommended to choose alloy steel molds that match the machine model, as their wear resistance is 2-3 times that of ordinary molds.

The key to maintaining the pressure rollers is ensuring surface friction and smooth rotation. Wear on the anti-slip texture of the pressure roller surface can cause material slippage, increasing the operating load of the small biomass pellet maker machine. Maintenance tips: Check the depth of the pressure roller surface texture weekly. If the texture becomes shallower than 1mm, repair the texture with a grinding tool to improve material gripping ability. Every 200 hours of operation, disassemble the pressure roller assembly, clean the dust and old grease from the bearings, and add high-temperature lithium-based grease to ensure smooth and unimpeded rotation of the pressure rollers and prevent equipment vibration caused by bearing wear. When uneven wear or dents appear on the pressure roller surface, causing an imbalance in pressing force, the pressure roller must be replaced promptly. When replacing, ensure that the wear on both sides of the pressure roller is consistent to avoid uneven stress on the equipment.

While cutter maintenance is easily overlooked, it also affects the overall lifespan of the small biofuel pellet making machine. A dull cutter increases cutting resistance, leading to increased motor load and potentially causing pellet stringing and clogging of the discharge port. Maintenance Methods: Check the sharpness of the cutter every 100 hours of operation. If the cutter becomes dull, sharpen it precisely with a whetstone to maintain its sharpness. Adjust the distance between the cutter and the die to ensure smooth cutting, avoiding increased resistance due to being too close or excessively long particles causing blockage due to being too far away. When the cutter is severely worn and cannot be repaired by sharpening, replace it with the same model promptly.

Advanced Points for Wear Part Maintenance: Establish a maintenance log, recording the time and equipment operating data for each inspection, sharpening, and replacement. Adjust the maintenance cycle according to the hardness of the raw material (shorten the maintenance cycle by 20% when processing hardwood raw materials). Stock high-quality wear parts of the same model to avoid prolonged equipment downtime due to lack of parts during malfunctions, which can accelerate the wear of other components. Applying wear-resistant coating technology to the surface of the pressure roller and die can further extend the service life of wear parts by 50%.
