Cooling and Screening
- Once the pellets are formed, they are hot and soft. They need to be cooled down to room temperature to harden and increase their strength. A cooling unit, such as a counter - flow cooler, is used for this purpose. After cooling, the pellets are screened again. This second screening is to separate any under - sized or over - sized pellets, as well as any un - pelleted material. The qualified pellets are then ready for further packaging.
