The vertical ring die pellet machine (also called a vertical ring die pellet mill) is a high-capacity wood pellet press designed for continuous industrial production. It compresses crushed biomass - sawdust, wood shavings, bamboo, straw, rice husk and similar materials - into dense, uniform fuel pellets that burn cleanly and store easily. Compared with flat die mills, vertical ring die mills deliver higher output per kW, denser pellets and longer die life, making them the preferred choice for serious biomass fuel producers.

Products Description

 

The MKLH series ring die wood pellet making machine is engineered to turn loose biomass into high-density fuel pellets at industrial scale. Raw material is fed into the top of the machine, distributed by a centrifugal feeder, and pressed between the rotating ring die and two stationary press rollers. As the die rotates, the pellets are pushed through the die holes and discharged by centrifugal action into a conveyor below.

 

The finished pellets leave the press at temperatures of roughly 80–90 °C. Because the structure is still loose and fragile at this stage, they must pass through a counter-flow cooler to drop to room temperature before they can be bagged or moved into silos.

How It Works

 

  1. Pre-processing: raw biomass is crushed to 3–5 mm particles and dried to the recommended moisture level.
  2. Vertical feeding: a screw conveyor feeds the material into the top of the pellet mill; gravity and the centrifugal feeder distribute it evenly inside the chamber.
  3. Pressing: two press rollers force the material through the holes of the rotating ring die; friction and pressure heat the material and soften the lignin.
  4. Cutting: an adjustable cutter slices the extruded pellets to the chosen length.
  5. Cooling: counter-flow cooling brings the pellets to room temperature and hardens them.
  6. Screening: fines are separated and returned to the press; finished pellets are bagged or moved to storage.

 

Ring die vs flat die: vertical ring die mills produce higher-density pellets at higher throughput than flat die mills, making them the industry standard for output above 1 t/h. They are the right choice when your daily production target is in tonnes, not kilograms.

How to read this table: capacity figures assume [raw material moisture 12–18%], particle size 3–5 mm, and standard 6 mm or 8 mm pellets. Output falls outside these conditions and with non-wood biomass. Pellet length is set by the adjustable cutter. Standard power supply is 380 V / 50 Hz; other voltages can be customized on request.

Ring die Wood Chip Pellet maker Machines are sensitive to moisture. If the moisture is too high, pellets will crack or fail to form; if it is too low, the die ring wears faster and output drops. The recommended raw material moisture is [12–18%]. For very wet material, a drying step (drum dryer, pipe dryer, or airflow dryer) should be added before the pellet press.

Q1: What pellet diameters can the machine produce?

By changing the ring die, the MKLH series produces pellets from 4 mm to 12 mm in diameter. The most common sizes are 6 mm and 8 mm for residential and commercial heating fuel.

 

Q2: What is the difference between a ring die pellet mill and a flat die pellet mill?

A ring die pellet mill uses a rotating ring die with two stationary press rollers; its output and pellet density per kW are higher than a flat die mill. Flat die mills are cheaper and suited to small-scale production (below 1 t/h); ring die mills are the standard for industrial production above 1 t/h.

 

Q3: What raw materials can it process?

Sawdust, wood shavings, wood chips (after crushing), bamboo, rice husk, straw, peanut shells, palm kernel shells, EFB and similar biomass. Material should be crushed to 3–5 mm particles and dried to the recommended moisture level before pressing.

 

Q4: What moisture content should the raw material have?
