What is a briquette making machine from sawdust?

content

A wood waste briquetting machine, also known as a wood pellet machine, is a specialized piece of equipment that uses high-pressure mechanical extrusion to convert biomass raw materials such as wood chips, sawdust, and forestry scraps into dense, blocky fuel without the need for additional binders. It is widely used in waste resource utilization and biomass fuel production. Its core function is to solve the problems of bulky wood chips, inconvenient transportation and storage, and low combustion efficiency. Through molding and processing, it transforms wood chips into easily usable, higher-calorific-value block fuel, achieving "turning waste into treasure."

From an equipment perspective, the wood dust briquetting machine belongs to the category of biomass molding equipment, similar to wood pellet machines (biomass fuel pellet machines), but their core positioning and finished product form differ significantly. Both rely on the self-bonding properties of lignin in the raw materials, which soften and melt under high pressure and temperature, without the need for binders-this is their commonality. However, wood briquette presses produce lumps of fuel with a diameter of 20-50mm and a length of 5-20cm, with a density of 1.1-1.3g/cm³ and a calorific value of approximately 4500-5000kcal/kg. Wood pellet mills, on the other hand, produce pellets of fuel with a diameter of 6-12mm and a slightly lower density (0.8-1.0g/cm³), making them more suitable for automated feeding scenarios.

The core value of a biomass briquette press lies in resource recycling and cost control. It efficiently processes wood waste generated from forestry production and timber processing, avoiding pollution caused by incineration or disposal. One ton of wood chips can be processed into 0.8 tons of lumps of fuel, replacing 0.6 tons of standard coal, which is both environmentally friendly and reduces energy costs. Compared to wood pellet mills, it has a lower investment threshold, greater raw material adaptability, and is suitable for small and medium-sized processing scenarios and individual entrepreneurs, enabling rapid resource utilization and profitability.

Based on application scenarios, wood briquette press machines can be divided into small biomass briquette machines and large industrial models. Small machines are compact and easy to operate, making them suitable for rural households and small workshops; large machines have high capacity and a high degree of automation, making them suitable for large-scale biomass fuel processing plants. Regardless of the model, both can accurately solve the problem of wood chip resource utilization, complementing wood pellet machines and covering different levels of biomass fuel demand.
