How to properly operate a small wood pellet mill?
Improper operation during startup is a major source of wear and tear on Wood chip pellet machines. Common mistakes include starting the machine at full load directly, neglecting no-load test runs, and failing to check component status. A scientific startup procedure should follow the principle of "check first, then no-load, then load." First, complete a comprehensive pre-start check, including lubrication levels, component clearances, electrical system, and raw material preparation.
Then, conduct a 3-5 minute no-load test run, observing the equipment's operating status, checking the smooth rotation of the pressure rollers and dies, and observing for any abnormal noise or vibration. Only after confirming there are no problems should material be fed slowly. Avoid starting the machine at full load directly, as the instantaneous load during startup is significant, and starting at full load can easily lead to motor overload and impact wear on the pressure rollers and dies.
Operational mistakes during operation mainly include inconsistent feeding speeds, frequent parameter adjustments, and ignoring abnormal signals. The core of scientific operation is "stable feeding, precise parameter adjustment, and timely response." The feeding speed must be kept uniform and stable, which can be achieved by adjusting the feed valve or activating the automatic feeding system. Feeding too quickly will cause a sudden increase in pressure in the pressing chamber, overloading the biomass wood pellet mill; feeding too slowly will reduce production efficiency and cause the equipment to run idle and wear down.
Parameter adjustments should be made gradually and finely according to the characteristics of the raw materials and the particle quality, avoiding frequent and large adjustments. For example, when adjusting the pressing pressure, each adjustment should not exceed 0.5 MPa. After adjustment, observe for 10-15 minutes and decide whether to continue adjusting based on the particle formation. Simultaneously, respond promptly to abnormal signals from the equipment, such as alarm prompts, parameter fluctuations, and noise changes. Immediately stop the machine for troubleshooting; do not force continued operation.
Common mistakes during shutdown include sudden power outages, failure to clean residual materials, and failure to perform shutdown maintenance. The correct shutdown procedure should be: "Stop feeding first, then run idle, then disconnect power, and finally clean." First, stop feeding and let the equipment idle for 2-3 minutes to process any remaining material in the pressing chamber. Then, turn off the motor power and wait until the Wood pellet manufacturing equipment has completely stopped operating before performing a thorough cleaning and maintenance. Avoid sudden power outages, as this can cause residual material to clump in the pressing chamber, clogging the equipment upon restarting and damaging the electrical system and transmission components. When the equipment is not in use for extended periods, in addition to routine cleaning, apply anti-rust oil to core components and cover them with dust covers to prevent rust and dust accumulation.
Furthermore, professional training for operators is crucial. Many operational errors stem from operators' unfamiliarity with the equipment's principles and operating procedures. Therefore, regular training sessions should be organized to ensure operators understand the equipment's working principles, operating procedures, troubleshooting, and daily maintenance methods. Simultaneously, establish an operational responsibility system, clearly defining operators' duties and standardizing operational behavior. Through scientific and standardized operation, equipment damage caused by human factors can be effectively avoided, extending the lifespan of the Commercial Pellet making Machine and improving production safety and stability.
