What are the four stages of the working principle of a charcoal extruder machine?

Product Description

Stage 1: Drying and Preheating (100-200℃) – Moisture Removal

After the wood briquettes, pressed by the charcoal briquette extruder machine, are fed into the carbonization machine, they first enter the drying stage. The heating device of the carbonization machine is activated, and the temperature rises to 100-200℃. Hot air circulation removes moisture from the wood briquettes (reducing the moisture content from 12% to below 3%). During this stage, the oxygen content must be controlled to a moderate level to prevent the wood briquettes from burning. Simultaneously, the dried wood briquettes are easier to pyrolyze subsequently. If the briquetting machine is skipped and loose wood chips are used, uneven moisture evaporation and raw material clumping are likely to occur at this stage.

Stage 2: Pyrolysis Stage (200-400℃) – Decomposition of Volatile Matter

When the temperature rises to 200-400℃, the wood briquettes enter the pyrolysis stage, which is the core step in the carbonization process. The cellulose and hemicellulose in wood chips gradually decompose, releasing a large amount of volatiles (including tar, methanol, methane, etc.). These volatiles can be recycled as fuel after treatment by a recovery device, achieving energy conservation. The dense wood chip rods pressed by the Rice Husk Charcoal Making Machine allow the volatiles to slowly escape, avoiding open flames caused by localized accumulation of volatiles and ensuring pyrolysis safety.

Stage 3: Carbonization Stage (400-600℃) – Formation of Fixed Carbon

When the temperature rises to 400-600℃, the core carbonization stage begins. At this time, air must be strictly isolated (oxygen content ≤3%) to prevent complete oxidation of the wood chip rods. The lignin in the wood chips further decomposes, retaining only fixed carbon components. The wood chip rods gradually transform into black charcoal blocks, shrinking in volume by 10%-15% and increasing in density to 1.2-1.5 g/cm³. If the raw material is loose wood chips, this stage is prone to crumbling into charcoal powder, while the rods pressed by the Wood Chip Charcoal Extruder maintain their shape and improve the yield.

Stage 4: Cooling Stage (Natural Cooling to Below 50℃) – Stabilizing Quality

After carbonization, the cooling stage begins. The heating device must be turned off, and the charcoal block temperature should be lowered to below 50℃ through natural ventilation or water cooling. During cooling, a slight seal must be maintained to prevent excessive air ingress that could cause secondary combustion. The cooled charcoal blocks can be directly packaged or sent to a Sawdust log maker machine for secondary processing (adding binders and extruding into shape) to produce standardized machine-made charcoal, adapting to different market demands and completing the processing loop.
