What Are the Drawbacks of small biomass briquette press machines?
Product Description
Small and medium-sized machines have insufficient production capacity, limiting scalability
Currently available biomass briquette making machines only produce 300-800 kg per hour, with a daily capacity of less than 6 tons, making it difficult to meet the demands of industrial-scale bulk orders. To increase capacity, larger models with a capacity of over 1 ton per hour are needed. However, large biomass briquette machines have complex structures and large footprints, suitable for large-scale production but not for small-scale entrepreneurs and rural cooperatives. While ordinary small biomass briquette press machines have similar capacity, their lower investment costs make them more suitable for small-scale operations.

High investment threshold and long payback period
The core components of biofuel briquette press machines (press rollers, die holes, hydraulic system) have stringent material requirements, necessitating the use of wear-resistant alloy steel, resulting in a significantly higher unit price than ordinary briquette machines. A small sawdust brick press machine costs approximately 30,000-80,000 yuan, with a total investment exceeding 100,000 yuan after pretreatment and auxiliary equipment; large models require an investment exceeding 500,000 yuan, 1.5-2 times the investment of an ordinary briquette machine with the same capacity. High investment coupled with limited production capacity results in a payback period of 8-18 months for small and medium-sized projects, far exceeding that of ordinary briquetting machine projects.

High unit energy consumption and rising operating costs
To achieve high-pressure, high-temperature molding, biomass brick press machines generally use high-power motors, with small models ranging from 15-37kW and large models exceeding 55kW. The electricity consumption per ton of raw material processed is 80-120 kWh, 20%-30% higher than ordinary briquetting machines. Simultaneously, the additional energy consumption of heating devices and lubrication systems further increases operating costs, significantly increasing cost risks in a market environment with volatile energy prices.
Rapid wear of vulnerable parts and high maintenance costs
The pressure rollers and die holes of biomass briquette extruder machines wear out faster than ordinary briquetting machines due to long-term high-pressure friction, with a service life of only 2000-3000 hours. Replacing a set of vulnerable parts costs 200-800 yuan, and the replacement process is complex and requires professional personnel. The wear parts of ordinary briquetting machines can last for more than 5,000 hours, with low replacement costs and simple operation. Biomass briquetting machines lack the long-term maintenance cost advantage.
