Overly large particles can cause jamming and mold wear, while overly fine particles increase extrusion resistance and equipment load. Compared to ordinary small briquette presses, it cannot directly process large pieces or fine powders, requiring pre-treatment equipment such as crushers and screening machines. This not only increases initial equipment investment but also prolongs the processing flow and raises the unit raw material processing cost, making it unsuitable for small-scale production.


High Moisture Content Sensitivity and Difficult Control
The biofuel briquette press machine is suitable for raw material moisture content ranging from 8% to 15%, with an optimal value of around 12%. Moisture content fluctuations exceeding 3% will affect the molding effect. Excessive moisture content can cause raw materials to stick to the briquette press die holes and feed channels, leading to blockages and cracking of the finished product; insufficient moisture content results in inadequate lignin softening, making the briquettes loose and easily broken. Conventional briquetting machines have a higher tolerance for moisture content and do not require complex drying or humidification equipment. The additional dryer required for biomass briquetting machines further increases energy consumption and operational complexity.


Highly Dependent on Fiber Content, Limited Raw Material Range
The molding effect of a biomass brick press machine is highly dependent on the fiber content of the raw material, and it can only efficiently process raw materials with a fiber content of ≥50%, such as sawdust and wood chips. For low-fiber raw materials such as straw and peanut shells, a large amount of high-quality wood chips must be mixed in to form the briquettes, limiting the diversity of raw material sources. In contrast, dedicated agricultural waste briquetting machines can directly process low-fiber raw materials. The raw material limitations of biomass briquetting machines make it difficult to adapt to the diversified processing needs of biomass resources.


Low Impurity Tolerance, Increased Screening Costs
The core components of a sawdust briquette making machine, such as the pressure rollers and die holes, have high precision and extremely low tolerance for impurities such as stones and metal fragments in the raw materials. Even a small amount of impurities can cause component wear and spindle bending. Multiple screening processes and manual sorting are required, further increasing labor and time costs compared to the simple screening process of ordinary briquetting machines, thus reducing overall processing efficiency.
