How To Judge The Quality Of Pellet Fuel?

Good pellet fuel should be uniform, smooth, free of cracks, dust and other defects, and the particle size should also be uniform. If there are cracks on the surface or the size difference between the particles is obvious, it means that the fuel quality may not be very good. At this time, you can pinch it with your hands to see if it is fragile or slag. If the high-quality pellet fuel is pressed into powder and quickly returns to its original state, it means that the particles are full and the combustion effect may be relatively good.
The moisture in the pellet fuel has a great influence on the calorific value, and too high moisture will reduce the calorific value. Therefore, when judging the quality of pellet fuel, you also need to pay attention to the moisture content. Excessive moisture will cause adhesion on the surface of the pellet fuel, the particles will stick together, and the combustion time will be unstable.

Ash content refers to the amount of ash in the pellet fuel that cannot be burned. For high-quality pellet fuel, the ash content should be below 2%. If the ash content exceeds 4%, it means that the fuel quality may be poor, and it is easy to produce sediment and block the ash machine.
Volatile matter is the gas released by pellet fuel at high temperature. The higher the content, the faster the combustion speed. If the volatile content is too high, it may cause explosion hazard. Therefore, the volatile index of the fuel needs to be controlled within an appropriate range, generally 20%~30%.
The calorific value of pellet fuel is an important factor affecting the combustion effect. Pellets with high calorific value can make the combustion time longer and the effect higher, so it is recommended to use it. It is recommended to purchase pellet fuel with a calorific value of more than 4200kcal/kg.
