What to Do If a Small Sawdust Briquette Press Machine Malfunctions?

Faults in small briquette press machines for compressing wood chips mostly occur in the feeding, forming, and discharging stages. The core causes are related to raw material compatibility, parameter settings, and equipment status. Accurate troubleshooting and resolution can ensure smooth compression operations.

 

 

Causes and solutions for hydraulic briquette maker malfunctions

 

Fault 1: Machine stoppage due to material jamming. This often occurs in the feeding or forming chamber. The main causes are excessive wood chip size (over 8mm), excessive moisture content (over 18%), or residual impurities clogging the die orifices.

Solution: Immediately turn off the power, clean the blockage material from the feeding channel and forming chamber, and unclog the die orifices with tools; screen out excessively large wood chips, re-crush them, adjust the moisture content to the standard range, and install a screen at the feeding inlet to intercept impurities and prevent re-jamming. During daily operation, feed at a uniform speed to avoid raw material accumulation and reduce the risk of jamming from the source.

Fault 2: Loose and cracked briquettes in the small wood waste briquette machine. The core problems are insufficient pressure, excessively low temperature, or excessively low wood fiber content.

Solutions: 1. First, fine-tune the parameters, increasing the pressure by 5-10 MPa and the temperature by 20-30°C, and observe the condition of the pressed blocks. If there is still no improvement, check the characteristics of the wood chips. Low-fiber wood chips can be mixed with 20%-30% high-quality sawdust to improve adhesion. If the surface of the pressed block is cracked but the interior is dense, it may be due to excessive cooling. Slow down the cooling rate to avoid sudden temperature drops that could cause structural deformation.

 

Fault 3: Severe overheating and abnormal noise from the equipment. Causes include improper parameter settings, insufficient lubrication, and wear of vulnerable parts.

Solutions: Appropriately reduce the pressure and speed to decrease the equipment load. Check the lubrication system and add special lubricating oil to gears, bearings, and pressure rollers to ensure smooth operation. If the pressure rollers and die holes are severely worn, replace them promptly to avoid increased frictional resistance leading to overheating and noise. The continuous operation time of the small wood briquette press machine should not exceed 8 hours; it needs to be stopped periodically to allow for cooling and extend the equipment's lifespan.

Uneven block lengths are caused by a mismatch between the cutter speed and the forming speed, or by wear and deformation of the cutter. Solution: Adjust the cutter speed to synchronize with the forming speed; check the condition of the cutter, and if severely worn, grind or replace it to ensure precise cutting. In addition, regularly clean residual sawdust from the cutter to avoid affecting the cutting effect.
