How to select a suitable sawdust charcoal making machine?
Product Description
Selecting the right machine based on production capacity: Matching production scale requirements
Small family workshops or rural cooperatives processing 1-5 tons of sawdust per day can use a small charcoal making machine with an hourly output of 300-800 kg, priced at 20,000-80,000 RMB. This can be operated with a small carbonization furnace, with a payback period of 6-12 months. Medium-sized processing plants processing 5-20 tons of sawdust per day require a medium-sized briquette machine with an hourly output of 1-2 tons, priced at 80,000-150,000 RMB. This machine uses an alloy steel spiral shaft and molds, supporting 24-hour continuous operation. Large-scale production processing over 20 tons per day requires a large briquette machine with an hourly output of over 2 tons, priced at 150,000-300,000 RMB. This machine needs to be equipped with automated feeding and cooling systems, matching a large-scale carbonization production line.

Selecting a briquette machine based on raw material characteristics: Matching the sawdust fiber content
For processing high-fiber raw materials such as sawdust and wood chips, a conventional sawdust log making machine can be used, relying on lignin self-bonding for stable molding. For processing low-fiber sawdust (such as mixed bark or fine sawdust), a reinforced briquette machine is required, equipped with a pressurizing device to increase the pressure to 25-30 MPa. Simultaneously, the mold structure should be optimized to prevent the briquette from becoming loose. The raw material compatibility of the briquette machine directly affects the carbonization effect; the sawdust fiber content must be determined in advance during selection.

Selecting a briquette machine based on carbonization goals: Focusing on briquette density parameters
If the goal is to produce ordinary combustion charcoal, a briquette density of 1.0-1.1 g/cm³ from a wood chip charcoal extruder is sufficient. If producing high-end barbecue charcoal or activated carbon blanks, a high-pressure briquette machine is required to ensure a briquette density ≥ 1.1 g/cm³. This results in a higher density finished product, longer burning time, and higher fixed carbon content after carbonization. Some high-end briquetting machines support mold replacement, allowing for flexible adjustment of briquette diameter to adapt to different carbonization furnace specifications.
