How to Choose the Right biomass briquette press ?

content

The selection of a sawdust briquette press should revolve around four core factors: "capacity requirements, raw material type, application scenario, and investment budget". It should be precisely matched with the characteristics of different models. Its selection logic is similar to that of wood pellet machines (selected according to capacity, raw material particle size, and molding method), but special attention should be paid to the raw material compatibility and heating method of the briquette machine. First, select the appropriate model based on production capacity requirements. Briquetting machines can be categorized into three types based on their hourly output: small (50-200 kg/h), medium (200-500 kg/h), and large (over 500 kg/h), corresponding to different production scales. Small models are suitable for individual entrepreneurs and family workshops, requiring an investment of 10,000-50,000 RMB, occupying a small area, and operated by 1-2 people, suitable for daily production capacities of 1-5 tons. Medium-sized processing plants and forestry cooperatives are suitable for medium-sized models, with an hourly output of 200-500 kg, requiring an investment of 50,000-150,000 RMB, which can meet batch production needs. Large-scale mechanized charcoal plants need to choose large models, paired with automated production lines, requiring an investment of hundreds of thousands of RMB, with an hourly output exceeding 500 kg, achieving large-scale processing.

Selecting the right model based on raw material type is crucial. Different raw materials have varying fiber content and hardness, resulting in different structural requirements for the briquetting machine. For processing raw materials with high fiber content and moderate hardness, such as wood chips and sawdust, a screw extrusion briquette press is the preferred choice due to its high forming efficiency and stable finished product quality, making it the mainstream choice in the market. For processing raw materials with low fiber content and loose texture, such as straw, peanut shells, and rice husks, a hydraulic extrusion briquette press is recommended. This eliminates the need for forced heating, preventing raw material carbonization and reducing equipment wear. If compatibility with multiple raw materials (wood chips + straw + palm shells) is required, a multi-functional screw extrusion briquette press equipped with an adjustable forming sleeve is recommended to adapt to the forming requirements of different raw materials.

Selection should be based on the application scenario: For machine-made charcoal processing, a wood briquette press machine with sufficient heating power (15-30kW) and a highly wear-resistant forming sleeve is needed to ensure the fuel briquette density meets standards for subsequent carbonization. For direct combustion for heating and barbecuing, a small screw extrusion briquette press can be selected, focusing on the smoothness of the finished product surface and combustion stability. For outdoor mobile processing (such as rural mobile processing), a portable small briquette press compatible with 220V voltage is necessary, with a small size for easy transportation.

Compared to selecting a wood pellet machine, press briquette machines require additional attention to the heating method (electric heating, heat transfer oil heating) and the diameter of the forming sleeve (which determines the finished product diameter), while wood pellet machines primarily focus on the die aperture and pressure roller material. Furthermore, when the investment budget is limited, small briquette machines offer better value for money than small wood pellet machines (small briquette machines require an investment of 10,000-50,000 RMB, while small wood pellet machines require 50,000-100,000 RMB), making them more suitable for low-cost startups. If pursuing large-scale profitability, wood pellet machines offer more significant advantages in mass production, while briquette machines are better suited for high-end charcoal processing.
