Methods to increase production capacity
Temperature parameter optimization is key to increasing the production capacity of second-hand biomass pellet machines. The core function of temperature is to soften the lignin in the raw materials, increase their viscosity, and facilitate smoother pressing. Different raw materials require different temperatures: softwood sawdust (pine, fir) has a high lignin content, so a temperature of 75-85℃ is sufficient; excessively high temperatures can lead to carbonization and increase the risk of die blockage. Hardwood sawdust (oak, birch) has high hardness, requiring a temperature increase to 90-105℃ to ensure sufficient lignin softening. Straw raw materials have a high fiber content, so a temperature of 85-95℃ is recommended to prevent fiber embrittlement. Optimization techniques include using an intelligent temperature control system to monitor the pressing chamber temperature in real time and automatically adjust the heating power according to the raw material type to avoid temperature fluctuations.
For small biomass pellet makers, pressure parameter optimization must match the characteristics of the raw materials to avoid wasted load. Insufficient pressing pressure results in incomplete extrusion of the raw materials, leading to loosening and cracking, requiring repeated processing; excessive pressure increases the motor load, forcing a reduction in feeding speed and decreasing production capacity. Optimization Method: The pressing pressure for softwood chips should be controlled at 10-12 MPa, hardwood chips at 13-15 MPa, and straw at 12-14 MPa. A pressure sensor is installed to monitor the pressing pressure in real time. When the pressure exceeds the rated value by 10%, the feeding speed is automatically reduced; when the pressure falls below the rated value by 10%, the feeding speed is appropriately increased to achieve dynamic matching between pressure and feeding speed.
Feeding speed optimization should be gradual to avoid overloading the equipment. Feeding speed is a parameter that directly affects production capacity, but faster is not always better; it needs to be adapted to temperature and pressure. Optimization Plan: When using new equipment or changing raw materials, start with 60% of the rated capacity as the initial feeding speed and conduct a 10-minute trial production, observing the operating status of the wood chip pellet maker (motor current, vibration, abnormal noise) and pellet formation. If the equipment operates stably and the pellet quality meets the standards, increase the feeding speed by 5%-10% each time until the rated capacity of the equipment is reached. Equipped with a variable frequency feeding system, it enables stepless adjustment of the feeding speed, avoiding equipment jamming caused by sudden changes in feeding speed. For example, one user used variable frequency adjustment to smoothly increase the feeding speed from 1.0 ton/hour to 1.8 ton/hour, and the equipment operated stably without overload.
