Cons of Biofuel Briquette Press Machines: What You Should Know
Product Description
The low calorific value of the finished product limits its applicability: Biomass brick press machine produces block fuel with a calorific value of approximately 4200-4800 kcal/kg, lower than coal (over 5000 kcal/kg) and specialized high-calorific-value briquettes. This limits its suitability to small boilers, rural heating, and outdoor barbecues, failing to meet the high-end demands of industrial-grade high-temperature heating and power generation. In contrast, dedicated industrial briquetting machines can improve the calorific value of the finished product through optimized raw material ratios and molding processes, making them suitable for a wider range of industrial applications.
The limited product form restricts equipment compatibility: Biomass briquette extruder machines can only produce block fuel with a diameter of 20-50 mm and a length of 5-15 cm. This fixed form cannot be adjusted to suit different equipment. Some automated heating equipment and biomass generator sets only accept pellet fuel or briquettes of specific sizes, limiting the product's application range. Ordinary briquetting machines offer greater flexibility by changing the molds to adjust the finished product's specifications.

Poor finished product stability and high storage and transportation risks: Although the finished product produced by the biomass briquette making machine has a density of 1.0-1.2 g/cm³, its structural stability is still insufficient compared to products from hydraulic dedicated briquette machines. It is prone to moisture absorption and breakage during storage, and the loss rate during transportation can reach 5%-10%. Dedicated briquette machines produce products with higher density and better water resistance, and the loss rate can be controlled within 3%. The inherent instability of biomass briquette machine products increases storage and transportation costs.
Difficulty in increasing added value and low market premium: The basic block fuel produced by the biomass briquette press machine has low added value. To increase profitability, further carbonization processing is required. However, the briquettes produced by this equipment have insufficient density, are prone to cracking after carbonization, and have low fixed carbon content, making it difficult to produce high-end machine-made charcoal. Dedicated charcoal briquette machines produce briquettes with high density and good carbonization effect, resulting in significantly higher added value than biomass briquette machine products and stronger market competitiveness.
