Pellet fuel is made by squeezing sawdust, straw and other raw materials using rollers and ring dies at room temperature. The density of the raw material is generally around 0.6-0.8, and the density of the pellets after forming is greater than 1.1, which is extremely convenient for transportation and storage. At the same time, its combustion performance is greatly improved, which brings certain employment problems and economic benefits.

The main agricultural residues and most of the forestry residues can be used as good raw materials for biomass pellet fuels, which have great energy utilization potential; the market development of biomass pellet fuels in Central China, East China, South China, North China and Northeast China is relatively good; developing and improving biomass pellet fuel technology and pellet fuel combustion technology, providing more incentives and support policies for pellet fuels, establishing more pellet fuel demonstration bases, raising public environmental awareness and limiting the irrational use of coal will be conducive to the development of China's biomass pellet fuels, which has great market prospects.
