What Are the Usual Operating Problems of a Vertical ring die pellet mill machine ?

content

Most production interruptions are caused by core component failures or safety hazards in the vertical ring die pellet mill. The principle of "stopping the machine first for safety, then troubleshooting" must be followed. Category 1: Motor burnout or severe overload tripping. Symptoms include unusual odors and smoke from the motor, frequent thermal protection tripping, and inability to restart. Emergency handling: Immediately disconnect the main power supply to prevent secondary damage; check the cause of the fault: if it is due to excessive feed and overload, clean the raw material at the feed inlet and replace the thermal protection element; if the motor coil is burnt out, contact a professional for repair or replacement of the motor. Prevention: Monitor the motor current in real time, avoid prolonged overload, and clean the motor cooling vents regularly.

Category 2: Pressing chamber jammed, equipment unable to rotate. Symptoms include a sudden stop of the vertical ring die pellet machine; the motor hums but cannot drive the main unit, and forced restarting may burn out the motor. Causes: Large metal pieces, stones, or other hard impurities have entered the pressing chamber; the gap between the pressure roller and the die is too small, causing excessive compression and agglomeration of the material; the bearing is damaged and jammed. Emergency handling: Disconnect the power supply, remove the inspection door of the pressing chamber, and clean out any hard impurities and agglomerated material; check the gap between the pressure roller and the die and readjust it to 0.1-0.3mm; check the condition of the bearings and replace any damaged ones. Tip: When cleaning jammed material, manually rotate the pressure roller shaft to assist in cleaning; avoid violent impacts.

Third Category: Transmission System Failure (Belt Breakage, Gear Damage). Symptoms include normal motor operation, but the main unit does not rotate or its speed drops suddenly, accompanied by a metallic clanging sound. Causes: Belt aging and breakage, insufficient oil in the gearbox, or severely worn gears. Emergency Handling: After stopping the machine, replace the belt with the same model and tighten the pulley; check the gearbox oil level and add special gear oil. If the gears are severely worn, disassemble and repair or replace the gearbox. Prevention: Regularly check the belt condition and replace it every 6 months; change the gear oil on time to avoid dry running.

Fourth Category: Raw Material Spontaneous Combustion Causing Smoke in the Equipment. Symptoms include smoke appearing in the pressing chamber and feed inlet, accompanied by an odor, and a rapid increase in temperature. Causes: High moisture content in raw materials leads to fermentation and heat generation inside the equipment; prolonged overload operation of the ring die wood pellet making machine causes carbonization and spontaneous combustion of the raw materials. Emergency Handling: Immediately disconnect the power supply and extinguish the fire with a dry powder fire extinguisher. Do not pour water on the fire (moisture-absorbing raw materials are more prone to clumping and may damage electrical components); after extinguishing the fire, clean up the burning raw materials and check for internal damage to the equipment. Prevention: Control the moisture content of raw materials, avoid leaving raw materials inside the equipment during prolonged shutdowns, and clean the equipment regularly.

Fifth Category: Electrical System Short Circuit. Symptoms include sudden equipment shutdown, sparks and tripping in the distribution box, accompanied by a burning smell. Causes: Dust entering the distribution box, aging wiring, and a humid environment causing a short circuit. Emergency Handling: Disconnect the main power supply and do not touch the distribution box; contact a professional electrician to inspect the wiring, clean the dust from the distribution box, replace aging wiring, and ensure the electrical system is properly sealed. Prevention: Clean the distribution box regularly, take moisture-proof measures for the equipment, and prevent dust from entering electrical components.
