Operating Precautions for Husk Briquette Machines

When using a small sawdust briquette machine to compress sawdust, pretreatment should focus on three core indicators: particle size, moisture content, and purity. Considering the structural characteristics of small equipment, raw materials can meet standards without complex processes, laying the foundation for efficient compression.

Influencing factors

Particle size control is paramount. Due to the small die size and limited pressure transmission range of the small wood shavings briquette maker machine, the sawdust particle size needs to be controlled between 2-8mm, with 3-5mm being the optimal range. This allows for sufficient exposure and softening of lignin while preventing jamming and uneven molding caused by excessive particle size. If the sawdust particles are too large, a small hammer mill can be used for secondary crushing, followed by screening with a 2-8mm sieve. Particles that are too fine (below 1mm) increase compression resistance and accelerate equipment wear; a small amount of 3-5mm sawdust can be mixed in to adjust the particle size distribution.

What is a briquette making machine from sawdust? What is the difference between a sawdust briquette making machine and a wood chip pellet maker?

Moisture content control directly affects the compression effect. The small wood chip briquette press machine is suitable for sawdust with a moisture content of 8%-15%, with an optimal value of around 12%. When the moisture content is too high, sawdust easily adheres to the inside of the equipment, causing the briquettes to crack and the die holes to become clogged. The treatment method needs to be adjusted according to the humidity: for slightly damp conditions (16%-20% moisture content), spread them out to dry for 24-48 hours; for heavily damp conditions, use a small drum dryer with the temperature controlled at 80-100℃ to avoid over-drying and reducing lignin activity. When the moisture content is too low (below 8%), the lignin is difficult to soften and bind, and the briquettes are easily broken. A small amount of water can be sprayed through a sprayer while stirring to ensure even moisture penetration.

What are the characteristics of wood chips produced by a wood briquette press machine? How to Convert Sawdust into Charcoal with a press briquette machine?

Purity treatment requires thorough removal of impurities to ensure equipment safety and briquette quality. Before compression, hard impurities such as stones, metal fragments, and glass must be manually removed from the sawdust. These impurities can severely wear down the pressure rollers and die holes of the small wood waste briquette machine, and may even cause the main shaft to bend. A simple screen can be installed at the feed inlet for secondary interception. Simultaneously, moldy and rotten sawdust should be removed, as these not only reduce the calorific value of the briquettes but may also produce odors and affect combustion performance. Sawdust containing a small amount of bark can be used directly, but the bark content should not exceed 10%, as excessive bark will reduce the briquettes' density.

Pre-treated sawdust should be compressed as soon as possible and stored for no more than 24 hours to prevent secondary moisture absorption or clumping. For small-scale production, an integrated pre-treatment station combining crushing, screening, and drying can be set up adjacent to the small biomass briquette making machine to reduce raw material transportation losses and improve overall operational efficiency.
